Beaches of the North
Cap Malheureux
Our first stage will be the picturesque church in shore with the sea which rises Cap Malheureux, characteristic village of fishermen, we will remain fascinated by the natural beauty of this site: the small port, calodyne of coral sand and as panorama, the four small islands: Coin de Mire, whose name derives from its resemblance to the angle of test card of a gun; Flat Island, seat of a headlight and a small cemetery of the last century and Gabrielle Island, which is isolated from the satellites.
Pereybère
While moving towards the west just after Cap Malheureux, we will reach the beach of Pereybère, which is situated more in the north of the island. Its deep water of intense colouring makes of this beach the one that the bathers prefer.
Grand Bay
First area of the island to live the tourist takeoff, Grand Bay became with the time a fundamental stage in the visits of Mauritius. Beyond its splendid beach, preferred place for the passionate of immersions and surfing, Grand Bay is also famous for shopping and entertainments.
Mont Choisy
Continuously with the discovery of the beaches along the North-West coast of the island, we will arrive at Mont Choisy. Characterized of an immense turquoise lagoon, the kilometric beach receives a forest of Casuarina (a species similar to our Pines) which extends to few meters of the beach. For lovers of snorkelling, we can reach by boat the coral barrier.
A curiosity: At the entry of the beach we can find a monument which commemorates the first flight landed in Mauritius, indeed, precisely on this beach on September 10, 1933 landed the first flight, among Reunion Island and Mauritius, for the second one, we had wait until October 4, 1934.
Trou aux Biches
Just after Mont Choisy we will visit the beach of Trou aux Biches, a true tropical paradise of crystalline water and palm trees.
